Based on the innovative MG Modular Scalable Platform (MSP), our highly acclaimed electric vehicle platform was first introduced in 2022 with the MG4. The MGS5 EV is our latest vehicle to use it.
The MSP platform is an intelligent vehicle architecture for pure electric models – designed to maximize battery efficiency, reduce weight and optimize performance.
From 0-100km/h in 6.3
The MGS5 EV has two engines to choose from: 170 HP and 231 HP, both driving the rear wheels, with the more powerful unit allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.

The multi-link rear suspension provides excellent stability over bumps while also improving ride comfort. Combined with minimal body roll, this ensures the MGS5 EV remains precise and stable even on the most challenging roads.
One Pedal Driving Mode
One-Pedal Driving Mode is the perfect solution for city driving. With this intelligent feature, simply lift your foot off the accelerator to slow the vehicle. You can adjust the intensity of the operation in three levels, or use the automatic mode – the higher the level, the more energy is recovered in the battery.
Fast charging
Lightning fast charging
With direct current (DC) fast charging, you can charge the 64 kWh battery from 10 to 80% in just 28 minutes. The MGS5 EV uses a 400V system, allowing for charging at up to 139 kW.
WLTP range up to 480 km
You can stop worrying about range anxiety thanks to our next-generation battery, which offers a range of up to 480 km on the WLTP combined cycle.

Our third generation battery technology is designed for high levels of energy retention – even during fast charging.

The MG Pilot is your ultimate driving companion. Our Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) provide a sense of control and security on every journey. Several safety features, including blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic alert, work together to ensure a safer drive.
Braking power
The MGS5 EV boasts high braking performance thanks to an advanced braking system developed in collaboration with Continental and Bridgestone. The upgraded system can decelerate from 100 km/h to 0 km/h in 35.5 meters.
Safety as standard
Drive confidently knowing your vehicle meets the highest safety standards. All models are equipped with seven airbags: front, side, curtain, and center airbags, all housed in a reinforced steel body structure for added protection.
360° HD camera system
Eliminate blind spots with the 360° HD camera system, available on the Exclusive trim. Four wide-angle cameras provide a complete view around the car, ultrasonic sensors warn of obstacles, and a rearview camera with active guidelines helps you park at the perfect angle.
