Guarantee
How long is my warranty period?
The warranty period begins on the date of first registration. The manufacturer, MG Motor, covers vehicles (registered on or after January 1, 2021) for 84 months or 150,000 km (whichever comes first).
Are there any conditions for the warranty to apply?
To be eligible for MG’s warranty, a vehicle must have a complete and accurate service history, in line with MG’s recommended maintenance schedule, using parts and fluids that meet the manufacturer’s (OE) specifications. Please refer to your warranty documents for details.
Are parts covered by warranty?
MG provides a 24-month, unlimited-mileage warranty on genuine MG spare parts, unless otherwise stated. Only parts listed in the MG retail price list are covered by the MG warranty.
How does the warranty cover the main components of the vehicle?
MG Motor provides a warranty period of 84 months or 150,000 km (whichever comes first) for the high-voltage battery pack, electric motor, electric machine inverter (PEB) and electric power unit controller (VCU) as key components of new electric vehicles.
If I use my MG as a private hire vehicle, how does the warranty work?
Vehicles used for passenger transport or driving lessons are warranted for 3 years/100,000 km (whichever comes first). All exclusions listed above apply, as do all terms and conditions listed in this warranty statement.
Can the MG warranty be transferred to a new owner when I sell the car?
Yes, the warranty can be transferred to any new owner as long as it has not expired.
Corrosion perforation has appeared on bodywork components of my vehicle, is this covered by the warranty?
The warranty covers the repair of perforated corrosion in any sheet metal body panel resulting from material or manufacturing defects. The anti-corrosion warranty is effective from the same date as the Vehicle’s basic warranty and is valid for 84 months/unlimited mileage. For this warranty to remain effective, the Vehicle must undergo an annual bodywork inspection by an Authorized Repairer (with the relevant documents completed and certified) throughout the warranty period. The MG annual anti-corrosion inspection form must be completed and the anti-corrosion inspection record stamped in the service booklet. All necessary repairs are carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
If a vehicle breakdown occurs abroad (outside my country), does the warranty cover the repair costs?
Yes, MG Motor provides a pan-European warranty (European Union area) which is valid in all countries where there are authorized MG workshops.
Roadside assistance
When does MG roadside assistance service start?
MG Roadside Assistance is available from the date of initial registration.
What does MG roadside assistance service include?
This service covers eligible MG vehicles that are immobilized due to technical or mechanical breakdowns. For more information, please refer to the Roadside Assistance claims.
What is not covered by MG roadside assistance?
MG Motor Europe does not arrange or provide any assistance services in certain situations, such as road accidents where the vehicle is immobilized. For more information, please refer to the roadside assistance statement.
What type of information do I need to provide when I need roadside assistance?
If you require GM assistance, please provide the following information during the call: name and surname, contact telephone number, registration, model and colour, address, nature of the fault and exact location.
When my MG needs roadside assistance, do I have to drive?
No, MG Roadside Assistance is designed to meet the needs of any MG vehicle, regardless of who is driving, requiring assistance in the event of a breakdown.
In which countries are roadside assistance services available?
We provide pan-European services covering most European countries. For more information, please refer to Appendix 2 of the Roadside Assistance Statements.
How long does roadside assistance cover last?
MG Roadside Assistance is available from the date of first registration for a period of 12 months. Coverage can be extended to up to 7 years.
How can I renew or extend my roadside assistance service in the second year?
Coverage can be renewed for up to 12 months from the last maintenance service performed by an official MG workshop, during the MG Service Interval Plan period, as described in the MG Service Portfolio. Extensions are free of charge.
What number should I contact when driving my MG abroad?
Please contact us with the service number for the country where you originally registered your car. If your country is not listed on our website, please consult your local MG dealer for more information.
